Artists in Hutto Collaborate To Create Public Art Sculptures
Share
Two artists from Hutto, Texas have been collaborating to create sculptures that are displayed in several cities surrounding the Austin area. Sculptor, Elizabeth Bonura contacted Greg Ray, the mastermind behind Set In Stone Statuary after seeing the large Hippo statues he created around Hutto. She asked him if he could help her enlarge one of her family sculptures. After sculpting a 9" family figure in clay, Elizabeth 3d scanned the sculpture. Once Greg received the 3d scan of the sculpture he 3d printed an enlarged version that was 45" tall. A mold was made from the large 3d print and finally concrete was cast and coated with bronze metal paint. Greg and Elizabeth have collaborated to created sculptures for Cedar Park, Georgetown and Bee Cave. They are currently working on a design for a Hutto Hippo!
